Pinocchio and the Workshop of Magic Toys — Balu Stories

Leo visits Geppetto's workshop and learns that the truth is the most powerful magic of all.

In his secret treehouse, Leo was carefully carving a wooden dinosaur when a mysterious invitation from Master Geppetto arrived with a gentle tap on the window. Balu came along to guide him. “Master Geppetto needs help in his Magic Toy Workshop!”

When they arrived, the workshop smelled of fresh wood and paint. There they met Pinocchio, a wooden puppet who could walk and talk! Pinocchio was sad because he wanted to be a real boy, but he thought he had to tell big lies to impress others. He started boasting that he was the greatest dinosaur expert in the world, and with every lie, his nose grew longer and longer!

Suddenly, his long nose knocked over a shelf of paints, waking up the “Mechanical Whale,” a giant toy that started vacuuming up everything in the workshop. Leo knew he had to act. Using his power of flight, he stayed out of the whale’s reach and used his strength to protect Geppetto’s tools.

Balu explained to Pinocchio that the Whale would only stop if he told the truth. With Leo’s support, Pinocchio gathered his courage. “I don’t actually know everything about dinosaurs,” he admitted. “I just wanted you to like me.”

Immediately, his nose shrunk back to normal and the Whale transformed into a giant, fun slide. Leo spent the rest of the day teaching Pinocchio real facts about dinosaurs, showing him that being yourself is much more fun than making things up. Leo went home happy, having helped a new friend find the way of truth.
